The Irish Government, through Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, wishes to encourage people to improve the energy efficiency of their homes by providing grants for installing various upgrade measures. The Better Energy Homes scheme provides assistance to homeowners to reduce energy use, costs and greenhouse gas emissions and improve the comfort levels within their home.
The main objectives of the scheme are to:
The support is in the form of a cash grants. Cash grants are fixed, irrespective of home size. If the actual expenditure is lower than the grant value only the lower amount will be paid. Payment is by Electronic Funds Transfer to the applicants bank account.
Grants are available to eligible applicants for undertaking the following works, in accordance with the requirements contractor Code of Practice Technical Specification.
Please note that these grant levels are different to those previously availabile under the Home Energy Saving scheme.
